New Actros successfully tested by Wiedmann & Winz
Wiedmann & Winz fulfills and demands highest quality standards, including the company’s fleet. Therefore, the new Actros has been extensively tested before its actual market launch in december 2011.
On a tour through Spain, the new Mercedes-Benz flagship had to prove its usefulness.
With temperatures around 37 degrees celsius, Wiedmann & Winz’ fleet manager Carsten Effenberger drove the Actros through the mountains, overcoming an altitude of 1.200 metres. While this was a true character test for the MB flagship, Wiedmann & Winz also tested braking characteristics on wet surface and fuel consumption.
“The new Actros brings along the advantages of its predecessor for Wiedmann & Winz’ fleet. In some important areas, it reaches a new level” says Dr. Micha Lege, general manager at Wiedann & Winz, who climbed behind the driving wheel for several hundred kilometers himself.”
Most important for Wiedmann & Winz’ customers: The new safety features like distance control or EPS, which make sure that truck loads arrive timely and unharmed at their destination also were a central part of the test.
