Hugo Wiedmann founded our company in Bad Überkingen. One year later the company was forced to close down due to the war.
Restarting after the war was difficult, but Hugo Wiedmann coped with it as he discovered a wood gas truck of the brand Kälble on a junkyard.
Hugo Wiedmann built a residential and office building.
By the end of the 1950s, the company’s fleet consisted of 4 vehicles, which were mainly used for the transport of mineral water.
The company expanded its operations to the Rheinland and to northern Germany. The fleet was growing continuously.
Start of the transportation of liquid sugar in tankers.
By the end of the 1970s, the fleet consisted of 28 trucks.
A new office and warehouse building was built in Geislingen. The forwarding company located at the other side of the road was bought additionally.
Our first website was launched.
Entry into contract logistics and start at the new location in Eislingen. The haulage company turned into a logistics service provider.
With full power into the new decade. Wiedmann & Winz is the first transport company to rely on a digital telematics system.
The cooperation in logistics and transport with the world’s largest bus manufacturer expands.
Taking over the logistics of a paper factory.
Entry into production logistics.
The first foreign branch in the Romanian town Sura Mica near Sibiu (Hermannstadt) started its operations.
Acquisition of the complexes in Eislingen and expansion to the company’s largest logistics location.
Reconstruction of the handling hall in Geislingen. Additionally, a state-of-the-art workshop for commercial vehicles as well as a modern truck-wash and filling station were opened.
New major projects in the fields of automotive, consumer goods and industrial products resulted in building new warehouses and implementing a new warehouse management system.
75 years of power. With a big anniversary party, current and former employees celebrate three quarters of a century “Wiedmann & Winz”.
